The Cook family are on a mission to raise awareness of Angelman Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder their youngest son was born with. Their journey has taken them across the US, and an UBCO 2X2 has come along for the ride. Here, Mike Cook gives his thoughts on our electric motorbike and how they've utilised it.
The UBCO 2X2 electric motorbike has proven to be an invaluable asset for our annual awareness drives, providing a versatile and efficient means of transportation that enhances our mobility and outreach efforts. This all-terrain electric bike has seamlessly integrated into our activities, offering a range of features that contribute to its overall effectiveness.
One of the standout features of the 2X2 is its compact and lightweight design, making it easily transportable with our RV. The ability to carry it conveniently allows us to extend our reach beyond the immediate vicinity of our base, exploring new areas and engaging with diverse communities during our awareness drives. This portability has significantly expanded our capacity to connect with people and share our message, as we can now cover a wider geographical area with ease.
Moreover, the bike has proven to be a practical solution for quick trips to the store or running errands during our awareness campaigns. Its agility and maneuverability make it ideal for navigating through urban environments or reaching locations that might be less accessible by larger vehicles. This not only saves time but also enhances our efficiency in executing various tasks associated with our awareness initiatives.
The electric nature of the 2X2 aligns seamlessly with our commitment to environmental sustainability. Its zero-emission operation ensures that our activities remain eco-friendly, contributing to our organization's broader goals of promoting responsible and sustainable practices. This aligns well with the values we aim to convey during our awareness drives, creating a positive impact on both our message and the environment.
Furthermore, the bike's performance on different terrains, including off-road capabilities, has been a game-changer for our family. Whether navigating through city streets or venturing into more rugged landscapes, the bike provides a reliable and versatile mode of transportation. This adaptability has allowed us to reach diverse audiences in various settings, ensuring that our awareness efforts are inclusive and far-reaching.
During our recent awareness campaign, we encountered a situation where a family we were staying with lived five miles away from the nearest store, accessible only through rough and unpaved roads. Fortunately, the UBCO proved to be a lifesaver, allowing us to efficiently obtain groceries and pick up medications for our son. Without the bike, we would have been forced to navigate the RV back into town.
Another instance occurred in southern Utah, where we met up with two families near Arches, but we were staying at a boondocking campsite with limited access. Once again, the need arose to refill our son's prescription. I rode the UBCO across 4x4 paths to the highway and then followed the bike path into town. Surprisingly, I encountered no issues, and a park ranger even stopped me just to inquire about the bike, expressing admiration for its capabilities. I let him ride it and he was in total awe. He took the below picture for me…
In conclusion, the UBCO 2X2 Bike has proven to be an indispensable asset for our annual awareness drives. Its portability, eco-friendly operation, and versatility in different environments have significantly enhanced our mobility and outreach capabilities. This electric bike has become an integral part of our efforts, allowing us to connect with communities, run errands efficiently, and promote our message in a sustainable manner.
