Our Global General Manager of Fleet, Grant Payton, discussed UBCO’s significant contract with Australia Post on RNZ’s Nine To Noon show. The deal involves providing a fleet of zero-emission electric bikes for their postal services.
Payton explains the substantial impact this deal has on UBCO’s growth, stating, "It's extremely significant for the business. From humble beginnings in a Wairarapa woolshed, to be now talking to major government entities such as Australia Post is extremely exciting. It shows that a small New Zealand player can get out there on the global stage and make an impact."
Payton also shares Australia Post’s original design brief, which led to the development of a rear-wheel drive bike modeled after the traditional postie bike. Capable of reaching speeds of up to 95kph, this custom-designed bike has been thoroughly tested and is now being deployed across Australia.
